The 4th Volume of “15 Bebop Etudes Over Jazz Standards” builds on the foundation of its three predecessors with a fresh collection of standard chord progressions and expanded harmonic challenges. While this book continues the series, it is not necessary to work through the volumes in order; each stands on its own as a complete set of studies.
 
These etudes are designed to give improvisers at all levels melodic pathways through a wide variety of chord changes. Each etude presents a unique musical environment, encouraging you to hear familiar language in new contexts and guiding both your ear and your fingers toward new possibilities in improvisation. Working these pieces up at a range of tempos will reveal deeper insight into melodic construction and harmonic navigation.
